As a freelancer, my beat has focused on the intersection of education, disability, and the LGBTQ+ community. Many of my pieces are explainers or guides, meant to clarify information for the community I'm writing about. I have pitched and reported stories for publications like Undark Magazine and The Objective. I have also been an engagement fellow at The Texas Tribune, where my stories were often republished by outlets across the state. My gender-affirming care explainer was part of a package that was a finalist for a 2022 Institute for Nonprofit News award.
